Winnipeg's Illustrated Rock History - Part 5: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Deluxe Chance Band: Terry Barnett, Paul Bergman, Randy Joyce, and Harri Vallittu

Date: December 20, 1975; Photographer: Gregg Burner

Wood 'n Hannah Band: David Wood, John Hannah (of Harlequin fame!), Harvey Kostenchuk, and Bob Wallace.  I can see many of these fashion choices making a comeback but let's all agree that the shirt Mr. Wallace is rocking should remain in the past.

Date: May 6, 1976; Photographer: Jim Walker

Woodwork: Kathy Brown, Stan Bedernjak, David Wood, and Brad Meadmore

Date: September 8, 1979; Photographer: Gregg Burner

Jazz-rock band Zdenka: Steve Hegyi, Kerry Ladyshewsky, Danny Pelfrey, Greg Black, Glen Hall, and Bob Fuhr.  Apparently history has decided that the most awesome location to photograph rock bands (and jazz-rock bands) is the stairwell.

Charlotte Whitton: Feminist Trailblazer/Ninja

On this day in 1951, Charlotte Whitton was elected the first female mayor of a major Canadian city.  In this photo, the mayor of Ottawa appears to demonstrate her little-known deadly karate skills while speaking at an event in Winnipeg.
